Mitosis
The Cell Cycle consists of three stages: Interphase, Mitosis and Cytokinesis. Mitosis is the stage where the action really starts. With all the moving and splitting to get ready for Cytokinesis, where the cell splits into two daughter cells. Our bodies go through the cell cycle everyday. Constantly adding and replacing worn out cells ever since you were born. MITOSIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF CELL DIVISON. If any thing were to go wrong it could lead to some pretty bad damage along the road and some health issues.
The Four Phases to Mitosis:
Prophase-
Centrioles began to move to either side of the nucleus and the spindle fibers form a bridge. The nucleus envelope breaks down, to divide. |
Metaphase-
All the chromosomes move to the middle of the cell and the spindle fibers attach them. |
Anaphase-
Chromatids separate and move to opposite ends of the cell and are now called chromosomes. |
Telophase-
Two new nuclei |
